Dear Friends of MLI,

Between May 06 and May 16, 2008 we had at Alpinis the first Church Based Leadership Development intensive training session. The theme was: “The Mission, its biblical mandate and its practice.” I have invited at Alpinis two different groups. The first group was from the south east Romania, the towns of Fetesti, Slobozia, Tandarei and some other villages from that area. There were about 19 people all together, men and women.

The second group was from the western mountains of Romania, the towns of Abrud, Campeni, Zlatna and Ponorel. There were about twelve men in this second group. Our guest speaker was our brother in the Lord, Cash Godbold. He was accompanied by his wife Ann. Cash and Ann are missionaries for over 47 years in Niger, with the Tuareg tribe, and in Chad. Their experience in mission and their dedication to the Lord were a great blessing for each one of us. I thank you all for making this training session a reality. Thank you so very much for your generosity and love for God and His people in Romania. Our time at Alpinis was meaningful and efficient; we all were challenged in our Christian walk with the Lord. Please take few minutes to read the thoughts of some of the people that attended the training.

This week I have learned that it is my responsibility also, that the Gospel of Jesus Christ to reach the ends of the earth. This week I was richly blessed and challenged to be more dedicated to God and to make Mission a priority in my life.

This week God brought before us a living example about dedication and sacrifice in the work of God. I was richly blessed, challenged and encouraged in my walk with the Lord and my service for Him. The fellowship was sweet, the location was excellent and the food delicious. Thank you so very much for making it possible for us!

My life was spiritually enriched this week. I was “shocked” by brother Cash’s testimony. Two things caused me to search my life: His passion for the lost. The joy he talks about his ministry even it was so difficult. Thank you so very much for a very challenging week!

It was a blessing for me to have participated at this conference. I was very impressed by brother Cash’s life and how he and his wife have went through so many trials to evangelize people who didn’t have access to the Bible. For me personally it was a testimony which motivates me to be more patient, pray more and have more faith.

This conference has encouraged me spiritually very much and it made me understand that if I want to be blessed by God, I have to be a blessing for others, and how a missionary should be: dedicated, sacrifices need to be made, one has to give up comfort and have compassion for people. I was profoundly impressed to find out everything that they went through in the mission that God gave them, willingly giving up a quiet life amidst their family, and choosing the desert and a nomad life. Growing a new generation of leaders in Romania is an emergency as over two millions Romanians left Romania and went to work in western Europe. Many of this people were church leaders, so the need for leaders is very acute. God called me for some time to be more involved at this level in Romania and I thank you so very much for your support, your partnership and your prayers. At this moment about eighty people are involved in this training program I started last September. Without your generosity and support we could not do these things.
